Breast Cancer Beyond October

undefinedDid you know that every year, about 65 percent of Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s efforts are supported directly by donations from corporate partners and grassroots fundraisers?

Without these gifts, LBBC could not provide programs and services—at little or no cost—to those in need.

As the CEO of Living Beyond Breast Cancer, I cannot stress how important these partners are to fulfilling our mission of connecting people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. They help the world understand that it’s important to care about breast cancer awareness all year round—not just during the so-pink month of October.

LBBC has been—and continues to be—dedicated to helping women of all ages and all stages of breast cancer find the education and support they need to make the best decisions regarding their treatment. We offer national conferences, monthly webinars, regional community meetings, theGuides to Understanding Breast Cancer and a toll-free Breast Cancer Helpline where trained volunteers offer peer and emotional support and practical information in a confidential setting.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, corporate partners donate to LBBC and the proceeds are invaluable. These partners also spread awareness about LBBC’s services across the nation by displaying our logo on their materials, which helps spread LBBC’s mission to women who never would have known about LBBC.

However, we feel that one month of the year just isn’t enough. This is why we’ve created ourBeyond October campaign. Our Beyond October campaign implores our partners to consider running promotions for LBBC throughout the year instead of just during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The mission of this campaign is to raise awareness year round for those who are affected by breast cancer.

We designed Beyond October because this disease affects so many people—not just cancer patients, but also their families, friends and caregivers. It is unyielding and does not discriminate against its targets. Please join us in envisioning a world where no one impacted by breast cancer feels uniformed or alone.
