Make a Difference to Children Month: Patient Becomes the King of Pop for 7th Birthday

undefinedNational Make a Difference to Children Month is a time when we show our appreciation for the children in our lives by making a positive impact. Whether it’s volunteering our time with community organization that supports local youth, or sharing special gifts with our own children, we strive to make kids feel cherished.

Crossroads Hospice recently helped one extraordinary patient, Aiden Robinson, celebrate his 7th birthday with a pop music party he’ll never forget.

Aiden loves nothing more than singing along to classic Michael Jackson albums and doing the Thriller dance. In a special Gift of a Day, he got the chance to feel like the “King of Pop” himself when he cruised in a limousine to Kent Elks Hall in Ravenna and strolled the red carpet as part of a pop-themed birthday party.

Dozens of family members and friends donned VIP bracelets and one white glove to celebrate Aiden’s passion for pop music as he moonwalked across a dance floor radiating with glow sticks and bright lights in a night full of pizza and fun.

During Make a Difference to Children Month, and throughout the year, the Crossroads Hospice team strives to bring joy to patients like Aiden by creating these special moments. After all, for many of us, our kids are the reason why we strive to be at our best each and every day. How will you make a difference in a child’s life this month?
