Patient Spends “Gift of a Day” Ringside

undefinedWhen she was growing up, Betty Griffin used to take the bus to Cincinnati Gardens to watch her favorite wrestlers duke it out in the ring. Her all-time favorite champion: WWE Hall of Famer Bobo Brazil, known for his signature takedown move, the “Coco Butt.” The nights of cheering crowds, bright costumes and body-slamming maneuvers are some of her fondest memories. Now 81-years-old, the Hamilton, OH, resident could think of nothing better for her Gift of a Day than sitting ringside at a match once again.

Crossroads Hospice recently invited the Cuyahoga Falls Trampoline Wrestling team to perform for Betty and her fellow residents at the Butler County Care Center. To make the day perfect, the wrestlers fought on a giant trampoline under the watchful eye of a referee as spectators were treated to an outdoor barbeque.  With one member dressed as Elvis, Griffin’s other childhood passion, the team spent the afternoon fighting for a true fan of the sport.
