Meet Mr. Music Man

undefinedEach year, our Kansas City location names a Volunteer of the Year from the Kansas City, Gladstone and Warrensburg locations. This year, the award was presented to our very own “Music Man,” Jim Haney.

After retiring in February 2011, Jim joined the Crossroads Volunteer Team because he wanted to focus on giving back to others. His lifelong passion is music, specifically playing his guitar and singing. Jim has dedicated the last two years to performing in several facilities in Lee’s Summit, Independence and Blue Springs. Each week, he hauls his microphone, guitar, amp and stool to bring comfort to Crossroads patients by singing American tunes, childhood favorites and more.

Jim is a model of consistency. He never misses a scheduled visit and regularly turns in volunteer progress notes. He is also one of the most humble people you will ever meet. Jim is a proud Veteran of the United States Army. We are so grateful for everything he does to brighten the day of our patients. Congratulations, Jim!
