Looking for the key to happiness? Study after study after study show that those who volunteer report higher levels of happiness and satisfaction with their life-work balance. April is National Volunteer Month, and we’re showing hospice volunteers our appreciation because they dedicate their time and talents to making our patients happy.
Some of the ways to participate in the Crossroads Hospice volunteer program include reading to patients, playing cards, visiting with your pet, working in the office and participating in our Gift of a Day events.
During Hospice Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 11 through 15, 2016, each of our locations will be hosting a Happiness Hour Event with light refreshments and entertainment. The events will honor our current volunteers and welcome those interested in becoming a volunteer to learn more about the opportunities available to them. Our goal is to reward hospice volunteers with gifts; it’s the least we could do for the incredible gift they give of their time, energy and compassion.
