A High Rolling Gift of a Day

Ben Duhon Gift of a Day

Ben Duhon was a high roller who made frequent trips to Las Vegas. For his Gift of a Day, he wanted one more trip to the casinos, so his Crossroads Team organized a trip to Harrah's Kansas City.

Ben got the VIP Treatment as he gave our team tips on how to win big at the craps table. His family drew a crowd to the table as Ben's chips piled up.

Ben was a world traveler who had served in the U.S. Army for 30 years. Because of that experience, he appreciated anyone who supported the troops. During his one of his visits to Vegas, he spotted Wayne Newton. Wayne's dedication to the troops was well-known as one of the USO's most frequent and popular performers. To thank him, Ben sent a bottle of wine to his table, and the two became friends.

The team arranged for Mr. Las Vegas himself to give his buddy a call to make the night even more special.

Ben Duhon passed away this weekend.

"I am so glad we were able to give him one more night doing what he loved," said Volunteer Coordinator Tracy Bunch. "Even if it wasn't Vegas, Harrah's did an amazing job to make it special as possible."
