    How Can You Get MORE?

The Got More? Get More! program is designed to help you embrace the core promise of Crossroads: Expect more from us. We do. The program rewards Crossroads’ staff with “tokens” as they reach and exceed the benchmarks we set as a company.

    What is it?

Throughout the year, our digital token system provides recognition and rewards for your outstanding contributions and achievements. Tokens are awarded to individuals for going the extra mile and to entire sites for hitting their goals each month. These tokens can then be redeemed for a wide range of items including branded clothing, electronics, home goods, and more.

    How does it work?

It's simple! Tokens are awarded to employees and teams who consistently go above and beyond, excel in their roles, and embody our company values. Achievements are sent to C4 by site leadership and then token awards are calculated by Perry Farmer. Staff can track their tokens at crossroads.valuesme.com. Emails notify staff when new tokens are added to their account.

    Are rewards taxed?

Each token has an equivalent value of $2.50. It is considered a fringe benefit by the IRS and taxed when they are awarded. There is no tax on tokens when you redeem them on the website.

How do I redeem my tokens?

Visit crossroads.valuesme.com to see your current tokens. Before checking out the catalog, click on the My Info tab and make sure your shipping address is current. Then click on Catalog. You will have the option to shop visit the Branded Merchandise store for the latest styles in our signature green including Visa gift cards or the Merchandise store for general items. Select your items, then visit the Cart to checkout.

When will get our next batch of tokens?

Perry is currently tabulating token awards and expects to add them to your token balance by the end of the month.

The Got More? Get More! program recognizes your hard work and dedication and allows you to choose the rewards you value most. Over the years, we’ve heard great stories of tokens being used for holiday gifts for the family, nice bedding, and patio furniture.

Keep an eye out for the next token distribution later this month and start planning how you want to use them!

    Thanks for all you do!

    The Gift of Presence

    By: Danny Gutknecht
When I began my journey with Crossroads in 2017, it afforded me a unique vantage point. I traveled to each site, immersing myself in the culture by interviewing over 260 leaders and employees.

My prior experience with other hospice organizations stood in distinct contrast and pale to Crossroads EMC model – it was an actual testimony that Crossroads wasn't merely talking the talk but walking the walk.

A serendipitous encounter added depth to this realization. Hugh Downs, the anchor of the popular 80s television show 20/20, crossed my path due to his interest in my book. Despite being 95, his presence was infectious. Hugh was a Renaissance man. He consulted with NASA on helping put John Glenn into orbit, and, never graduating college, he passed the NY State physicians exam for Gerontology. He wrote several books, the one he was most proud of, "Potential."

My weekly trips to Crossroads helped me draw a visceral connection to the company's commitment to end-of-life care. When Hugh lost his wife of 73 years, the gravitas of the value Crossroads delivered hit home.

Over the next few years, the nurses told me Hugh looked forward to our weekly visits, and his overall well-being improved physically and mentally. I enjoyed talking to Hugh and working on a book together. Hugh missed working.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic prevented Hugh from having visitors at the facility. Hugh passed away in July of 2020 at the age of 99. He was 13 years shy of his goal of living to 112. Hugh was my friend, and I often reflect on how lonely he had to be in those final days. Isolation and lack of connection are silent but deadly killers.

I've collaborated with giants like Expedia, Cliff Bar, and the Mayo Clinic. But Crossroads is the first time I've seen a business model that captures the heart of hospice care providers like no other model.

Every business and every industry has struggles to manage. We all want Crossroads to shine its light a little more. Making things better isn't a top-down, only thing. Stewardship is everyone working together, listening and communicating with one another, and working to deliver the wonderful gift of presence every day.
