Site Leaders Say Leadership Training is Welcome

Crossroads Executive and Clinical Directors have been growing their skills with one-on-one leadership training and coaching. The investment in Crossroads’ people started at the top this summer and was inspired by the Employee Survey conducted earlier this year.

According to NEO Executive Director Edda Sedon and Clinical Directors Stephanie Bennett of Kansas City and Hallie McArthur of Lenexa, the training has been very beneficial so far and the one-hour sessions are something they truly look forward to.

Led by Danny Gutknecht of Pathways and his team, below is how Edda, Stephanie and Hallie reflected upon their recent one-on-one coaching sessions.

I’ve found the training to be personally and professionally beneficial. I’ve never had this type of insight in to my leadership role before. As a social worker, it feels easy and I’m open to it because I’m wired to help. I appreciate Crossroads’ investment in leaders.

Edda Sedon, Executive Director, Northeast Ohio

It made me look at myself and as a leader in a completely different light. I recognize what I need to change. I’m really glad Crossroads implemented this training. I really enjoy the time spent and I look forward it.

Stephanie Bennett, Clinical Director, Kansas City

I really enjoyed the training. It’s a nice hour to reflect and dig in to who I am as a person and as a leader. Since taking the training, I’m more observant of comments from my peers. I’m better able to recognize my strengths and weaknesses.

    Hallie McArthur, Clinical Director, Lenexa

    Unlocking the Communication Loop

Crossroads can feel like a whirlwind of activity where simplicity and focus seem as elusive as a mirage in the desert. We share a common desire to improve our daily experience, but it's undeniable that there are obvious frustrations. We all know what they are by now.

    Unlocking the Communication Loop

    By: Danny Gutknecht
Crossroads can feel like a whirlwind of activity where simplicity and focus seem as elusive as a mirage in the desert. We share a common desire to improve our daily experience, but it's undeniable that there are obvious frustrations. We all know what they are by now.

So many people in this company want to do great work and fulfill Crossroad's aspirations. However, many grapple with an ever-growing pile of tasks. Some are unique to Crossroads, and some are created by healthcare compliance requirements. Meanwhile, our local site leaders often bear the brunt of this challenge.

We must collectively improve if we all want to create the kind of company we enjoy. To achieve this, we must foster open and compassionate communication, embracing collaboration even when it initially feels awkward or challenging. It's a path that will lead us to our shared destination more swiftly.

Delivering Crossroads’ brand of care to patients is why we exist and what our communities deserve. As a caregiver, your well-being, experience, and ability to provide care are "the" top priority for all leaders here. We know it hasn't always felt like that. But we are aiming to fix it. Our duty is to enhance your daily experience. We understand we have work to do, which will take time, but most of us are all in.

Here are a few things we can all do to be better.

Let's have an open dialogue. Oprah Winfrey once said, "You must teach people how to treat you." This doesn't imply an aggressive stance but it lets others know how you prefer to be communicated with. When we conceal our concerns and feelings, we actively participate in a cycle of misunderstanding. No one can read minds. A simple rule: Let's engage with one another with the same care and attention we do our patients.

Seek understanding: Prioritize understanding over assumptions; ask questions. This approach sets the stage for meaningful conversations and mutual comprehension.

Prioritize and share the burden: Take control of your workload by focusing on tasks that genuinely matter. Do what's right, and concentrate on what truly advances our mission.

Offer solutions: Encourage liberating conversations by suggesting solutions or alternatives.

Unlocking the communication loop is our pathway to success. Together, one step at a time, let's liberate ourselves, ensuring that we all thrive on this journey we wholeheartedly believe in.

It’s Easy to Access Low-Cost Lab Work, Imaging & More

Crossroads has teamed up with Nomi Health (formerly Everyone Health) to help you find the highest quality providers for labs, imaging, elective procedures, and surgeries at little to no cost.

Connect with Nomi Health by phone at 855-601-1900 or download the “Everyone Health” app from the App Store or Google Play.

Before you or a family member are scheduled for an elective procedure, simply call a Health Care Guide or reach out via the app chat feature. They will be happy to search for the closest low-cost locations.

Once you have selected a location for your test or procedure, the facility will reach out to schedule your appointment. If pre-authorization is required, a Health Care Guide will step in to get your information where it needs to go.

Before your appointment, a Health Care Guide will provide you with a voucher to present to the front desk on the day of your appointment. You MUST bring this voucher with you when you visit the provider. This voucher will replace the need for your medical ID card.

Note for those on the HSA Plan: You will only need to meet the $1,500 deductible before getting your care for free through Nomi Health.

    Discount Prescriptions
