Simply defined, grief is the normal and natural reaction to significant emotional loss of any kind, yet the ideas we have been taught about dealing with grief are not accurate or helpful. While we never compare losses, any list would include death and divorce as obvious painful losses. The range of emotions associated with grief can be as varied as the people and personalities experiencing them.

This section provides you with information about our Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program, developed by the Grief Recovery Institute, and facilitated by a trained and certified bereavement professional. It also provides a guide to understanding your “after” journey.
