Saturday, January 24, 2015
Lee's Summit native Fred Marschel worked for the Lee's Summit Airport for over 25 years as a pilot, served as Air National Commissioner, and was well known at the world's largest Fly In Convention.
Now 91-years-old, the former pilot is a Crossroads Hospice patient.
The Crossroads Hospice Gift of a Day program aims to create the perfect day for their patients. Marschel's day was January 16.
Marschel was joined by his care team, daughter, and friends on a 45 minute flight with pilot Mike McGraw around Lee's Summit from the Lee's Summit Airport on a cloud free, sunny day.
