The American Flag: Pride, Patriotism, Freedom & Honor
For more than 200 years, the American flag has served as a symbol of our nation’s freedom. It serves as a source of pride and patriotism; a beacon of unity and healing; a symbol in ceremony and celebration; and a way to honor deceased Veterans.
As we noted in our blog series Real Heroes Wear Dog Tags, each fold of the flag recognizes the principles on which our country was founded.
Once the flag is completely folded, only a triangle field of blue stars is visible, reminding us of our national motto, “In God We Trust.”
