Meet Hospice Aide Woo Jeong

woo jeong crossroads hospice

Throughout CNA Week, we'll be introducing you to just a few of the many dedicated and compassionate hospice aides who care for our patients. CNAs are also called HHAs, STNAs and hospice aides. Today, meet Woo Jeong from our Philadelphia, PA office.

What do you do as a hospice aide?

I have a passion for caring for people. I can clean them up and get them in a good condition for their family. I provide companionship and support. When the patient is dying, I can make sure they are comfortable. I set a peaceful mood.

Where else have you worked?

I lived and worked in Japan, so I am able to speak Japanese fluently like my native Korean.

How is hospice care different in the United States?

In America, more people accept that it is natural to die peacefully. In some other cultures, they know in their brains, but they can’t accept it in their heart and don’t want hospice care.
