Building & Maintaining Referral Relationships for Crossroads

According to Provider Relations Representative Dee Taylor, Crossroads enjoys an excellent reputation in Memphis that it has earned over many years of delivering outstanding end-of-life care to local community members and their families.
This helps Dee with her job. On a daily basis Dee continues to build Crossroads’ reputation as she educates referral sources about the benefits of hospice care while serving as an important liaison to long-term and memory care facilities, cancer centers, doctors, hospitals and individuals.

When Dee first joined Crossroads she only anticipated staying with the company for a short time until she found another position in pharmaceutical sales after the firm she worked for closed unexpectedly. “It was a blessing in disguise,” according to Dee.

That was more than 14 years ago. But everything fell into place quickly for Dee at Crossroads. She found her calling almost immediately and has thrived ever since. While her position is externally focused on driving business for Crossroads, internally Dee loves working as a member of Crossroads’ integrated care teams.

Crossroads is a Special Place

Dee loves to collaborate with team members to support Crossroads’ signature programs like Gift of a Day, Life Journals and Veterans Recognition.

Deep down Dee understands and appreciates Crossroads’ “mission and vision.” This guides her as she “finds out what’s important to the customer” and what they are “looking for in a hospice.”

It’s not just new relationships. Maintaining and retaining relationships with existing referral sources are also part of Dee’s role. She prides herself on being a problem solver who uncovers and resolves issues for clients.

Dee tends to know everyone in a long-term care building from the front desk to the business office. Included are all the social workers, nurses, chaplains and aides too. Dee is not only known she is trusted.

And when she’s not diligently on the job at Cross-roads Dee enjoys domestic and international travel, good food, live jazz shows, Broadway and the arts.
